Again the market rallied last week with both indices up strongly. The All Ordinaries rose 4.4% to close at 4,495.9 points whilst the ASX 200 finished up a healthy 4.6% closing at 4,489.6 points.
Our market enjoyed yet another broad based rally last week with both the major banks and the big miners rising solidly.
Banks
ANZ finished up 7.5% to $20.46
CBA finished up 3.7% $45.15
Macquarie finished up 9.8% to $48.95
NAB finished up 8.3% to $27.81
WBC finished up 6.9% to $24.31
Resources
BHP finished up 3.4% to $37.85
RIO Tinto finished up 1.8% $57.30
Woodside Petroleum finished up 5.4% to $49.70
Whilst I am well aware the market has continued to rally strongly over the past month, I still maintain a pullback is in order. As we head into September and October, a notoriously rocky period for the market, we may experience some overdue consolidation.
