The Wrap

The Aussie market finished in positive territory again last week with the All Ordinaries closing up 1.3% and the ASX 200 up by 1.0%. After several weeks of downward spiraling global markets, some calm appears to have entered the marketplace.

This is not to say the volatility has ceased, but that perhaps markets look as if they are trying to bottom out.

Banks
ANZ finished up 0.4% to $23.14
CBA finished up 0.2% to $52.59
Macquarie finished down 0.2% to $44.63
NAB finished up 1.7% at $25.12
WBC finished up 0.6% to $23.56

Resources
BHP finished up 1.4% to $39.13
RIO Tinto finished up 2.2% to $70.65
Woodside Petroleum down 1.1% to $44.71

After a fairly severe 10% correction, stocks again look compelling. Look to buy on weakness if you are a long term investor.
