After a 2.5% rise in the previous week, our market again rose by a similar amount last week. The All Ordinaries closed at 4,955 whilst the ASX 200 settled at 4,862.
For a second consecutive week, both the big banks and the mining giants all rose.
Banks
ANZ finished up 2.1% to $23.87
CBA finished up 1.7% to $52.74
Macquarie finished up 0.4% to $36.47
NAB finished up 3.8% to $25.98
WBC finished up 2.9% to $24.41
Resources
BHP finished up 4.3% to $46.68
RIO Tinto finished up 3.5% to $84.85
Woodside Petroleum finished up 1.5% to $47.40
Again our market is flirting with the 5,000 mark. The big question on investors lips is whether or not it will break through and hold this psychological level.
