The Wrap 

After a horrible week where the market fell a whopping 7.2%, the local bourse finished higher by 1.6%.  The All Ordinaries settled at 4,237 whilst the ASX 200 closed the week out at 4,172.

Gains were finally enjoyed across the board with both the major banks and the miners posting solid returns with the exception of RIO.

Banks
ANZ finished up 4.3% to $19.92
CBA finished up 5.0% to $48.56
Macquarie finished up 1.4% to $23.58
NAB finished up 5.5% to $22.96
WBC finished up 6.2% to $20.47

Resources
BHP finished up 0.2% to $38.21
RIO Tinto finished down 0.7% to $71.52
Woodside Petroleum finished up 7.2% to $37.05

Investors will now await global markets to calm down before they jump back in.
