After a very volatile week, the local stock market settled 1.7% lower. The ASX 200 barely managed to hold above 4,100 points.
Stocks were down across the board with the exception of Macquarie Bank. Again the miners and the banks took a hammering. It seems there is nowhere to hide at the moment.
Banks
ANZ finished down 2.1% to $19.50
CBA finished down 5.4% to $45.96
Macquarie finished up 1.2% to $23.86
NAB finished down 2.4% to $22.40
WBC finished down 4.0% to $19.65
Resources
BHP finished down 1.9% to $37.50
RIO Tinto finished down 2.9% to $69.42
Woodside Petroleum finished down 4.3% to $35.44
Yet again the markets will look for leads from Wall Street and of course Europe. Unfortunately, volatility is set to continue.
