The Australian equity market edged marginally higher for a third straight week with the All Ordinaries closing 0.5% firmer to 4,853 whilst the ASX 200 was higher by 0.4% to settle at 4,763 points.
Both the banking sector and the mining giants were mixed for the week.
Banks
ANZ finished down 1.0% to $23.59
CBA finished up 0.2% to $50.70
Macquarie finished up 1.9% to $37.48
NAB finished down 0.3% at $24.15
WBC finished up 2.9% to $23.19
Resources
BHP finished down 0.9% to $45.03
RIO Tinto finished down 2.0% to $85.65
Woodside Petroleum up 0.4% to $43.17
2010 has seen the local market virtually unchanged. With investors winding down for the year, not much is likely to change.
