Friday’s 1.5% pullback wasn’t enough to take the shine off the market last week. Despite the fall, the Aussie market rose a healthy 2.8%. The All Ordinaries and the ASX 200 both settled above 4,700 points.
Solid gains were enjoyed across the board with the big miners and the major banks all gaining ground for the week.
Banks
ANZ finished up 3.7% to $21.98
CBA finished up 6.6% to $53.96
Macquarie finished up 6.9% to $48.47
NAB finished up 4.0% to $28.10
WBC finished up 3.9% to $24.04
Resources
BHP finished up 2.5% to $41.40
RIO Tinto finished up 4.8% to $71.85
Woodside Petroleum finished up 2.1% to $49.10
With only a few weeks to go before year end, investors are winding down. Many, to say the least, will be looking forward to the end of what has been a tumultuous year.
