The Australian market fell sharply last Friday down 2.3%. However, it was only down 1.3% for the week. The All Ordinaries settled at 4,553 points whilst the ASX 200 closed at 4,514 points.
In what is a fairly common theme, the Aussie market followed the US lower. Losses were experienced across the board with the exception of BHP and Macquarie Bank, they rose slightly.
Banks
ANZ finished down 3.8% to $20.90
CBA finished down 1.1% to $52.67
Macquarie finished up 0.1% to $50.23
NAB finished down 4.0% to $25.31
WBC finished down 5.2% to $22.61
Resources
BHP finished up 0.4% to $39.55
RIO Tinto finished down 2.1% to $66.60
Woodside Petroleum finished down 1.9% to $41.52
It appears negative sentiment has reared its ugly head once again. The volatility in global markets has risen sharply and will no doubt influence trading this week. Trade warily!
