The Aussie market edged up last week closing higher for the second consecutive week. The All Ordinaries finished up 0.5% closing at 4,437 points whilst the ASX 200 settled up 0.6% to close at 4,422.7 points.
It was a mixed week for the big boys with the major banks generally higher and resources lower.
Banks
ANZ finished up 0.7% to $22.54
CBA finished up 3.1% to $51.36
Macquarie finished down 0.5% to $39.47
NAB finished up 1.9% at $24.49
WBC finished up 1.7% to $22.58
Resources
BHP finished down 0.7% to $38.15
RIO Tinto finished down 3.4% to $65.78
Woodside Petroleum up 0.02% to $42.54
With the US earnings season upon us, it will be interesting to see how our market reacts. It’s likely that a positive scorecard will see a rally in the US translate to one locally.
