For a seventh straight week the Australian share market has risen in value. The All Ordinaries added another 0.3% last week whilst the ASX 200 rose 0.5%.
Gains were enjoyed across the board with both the miners and the banks rallying.
Banks
ANZ finished up 1.4% to $25.45
CBA finished up 2.1% to $57.37
Macquarie finished up 1.0% to $49.90
NAB finished up 2.6% at $27.59
WBC finished up 2.0% to $27.98
Resources
BHP finished up 0.2% to $43.28
RIO Tinto finished up 2.8% to $78.32
Woodside Petroleum finished up 0.4% to $46.92
Given the strong gains we’ve enjoyed over the past seven weeks, the Aussie market is likely set for a period of consolidation; perhaps even a minor pullback. However, any selloff at this stage continues to look like a good buying opportunity.
