The Australian market weakened last week with both key indices falling 1.2%. The All Ordinaries dropped 53 points to close at 4,443 points whilst the ASX 200 finished 54 points lower to close at 4,435 points.
It was a mixed week with the major banks generally higher and the mining giants generally lower.
Banks
ANZ finished up 3.5% to $21.17
CBA finished up 1.2% to $45.68
Macquarie finished down 0.5% to $48.70
NAB finished down 2.2% to $27.21
WBC finished up 0.1% to $24.34
Resources
BHP finished down 3.2% to $36.62
RIO Tinto finished down 3.6% to $55.25
Woodside Petroleum finished down 5.4% to $47.04
September has historically been a rocky month for the markets; a mild correction is looming as a possibility here in Oz. We continue to view any pullback as a good buying opportunity for long term investors.
