By sponsoring a child, ProAcct is helping to bring about long-term benefits to our sponsored child, Mavis Phiri, her family and community.
Mavis was born on 28th April 2003 in Zambia. She lives in a rural area with her father as her mother died some time ago. Her father is a peasant farmer and is only able to find seasonal employment.
Our support is an important and continuing part of assistance to help Mavis and her family attain self-reliance. Our continuing support is also helping to fund vital development work in Mavis’s community, such as digging wells, improving sanitation and building health clinics.
This work ensures that the community will be able to provide Mavis with the basics she needs, which will help her to grow up in a healthy environment and have the chance for a better future.
The best way to change a child's life is to change the world in which they live.
